Section 415(a) of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act ( 42 U.S.C. 11374(a) ) is amended by adding at the end the following: Maintenance, operation, insurance, and provision of utilities related to safe parking. . Section 411 of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act ( 42 U.S.C. 11371 ) is amended— by redesignating paragraphs
(7)through
(9)as paragraphs
(8)through (10), respectively; and by inserting after paragraph
(6)the following new paragraph: The term safe parking means an activity that— provides homeless persons living in vehicles, including motor homes, with a safe place to park their vehicles overnight to facilitate a transition to stable housing; and provides re-housing and supportive services to such homeless persons. .
