Section 286 of the Immigration and Nationality Act ( 8 U.S.C. 1356 ) is amended— in subsection (d)— by striking In addition to any other fee and inserting the following: In addition to any other fee ; by inserting and except as provided in subsection (e), before the Attorney General shall charge and collect ; by striking $7 and inserting a fee in an amount specified in paragraph
(2); and by adding at the end the following: For purposes of this section, the amount specified in this section for fiscal year 2025 shall be not less than $10. Beginning in fiscal year 2026 and each fiscal year thereafter, the amount specified in this subsection for a fiscal year shall be equal to the sum of— the amount imposed under this subsection for the prior fiscal year; and rounded to the next lowest multiple of $0.25, the amount referred to in subparagraph (A), multiplied by the percentage (if any) by which the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers for the month of July preceding the date on which such adjustment takes effect exceeds the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers for the same month of the preceding calendar year. Of amounts collected under this subsection $1 per individual for immigration inspection or preinspection as described in this subsection shall be deposited in the general fund of the Treasury. A fee imposed under this subsection shall not be waived or reduced. ; and in subsection (e)— by striking paragraph (1); by redesignating paragraphs
