The Assistant Secretary, at the request of a State agency (as defined in section 102 of the Older Americans Act of 1965 ( 42 U.S.C. 3002 )) or area agencies on aging, may provide technical assistance on the requirements of evidence-based programs under the Older Americans Act of 1965 ( 42 U.S.C. 3001 et seq. ). The Assistant Secretary may consider whether there are evidence-informed practices, based on the best available science, that may improve health outcomes.
