Sec. 555. Distance education option for professional military education

Section 2154 of title 10, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following new subsection: Any distance education programs for professional military education that may be offered by any of the military services to satisfy Phase I or Phase II instruction under subsection
(a)shall include a pathway or pathways for students to fully complete the course of instruction while physically separated from the course instructors and without any in-person attendance required to graduate from such programs. In this subsection, the term distance education has the meaning given the term in section 103(7) of the Higher Education Act of 1965 ( 20 U.S.C. 1003(7) ). .
