Section 7506(g) of the Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2024 ( Public Law 118–31 ) is amended— in paragraph (2)— in subparagraph (A), by inserting active and before potential ; in subparagraph (B), by striking the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community and inserting the designated agency ethics official ; by redesignating subparagraph
(C)as subparagraph (D); and by inserting after subparagraph
(B)the following: Authority for the designated agency ethics official to grant a waiver for a conflict of interest, except that— no waiver may be granted for an active conflict of interest identified with respect to the Chair of the Board; every waiver for a potential conflict of interest requires review and approval by the Director of National Intelligence; and for every waiver granted, the designated agency ethics official shall submit to the congressional intelligence committees notice of the waiver. ; and by adding at the end the following: In this subsection, the term designated agency ethics official means the designated agency ethics official (as defined in section 13101 of title 5, United States Code) in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. .
