It is sense of Congress that— the Port of Portland, Oregon, is the sole dredging operator of the federally authorized navigation channel in the Columbia River, which was authorized by section 101 of the River and Harbors Act of 1962 (76 Stat. 1177); the Corps of Engineers should continue to provide operation and maintenance support for the Port of Portland, Oregon, including for dredging equipment; the pipeline dredge of the Port of Portland, known as the Dredge Oregon , was built in 1965, 58 years ago, while the average age of a dredging vessel in the United States is 25 years; and Congress commits to ensuring continued dredging for the Port of Portland.
