For purposes of implementing the coastal erosion project, Barrow, Alaska, the Secretary may consider the North Slope Borough to be in compliance with section 402(a) of the Water Resources Development Act of 1986 ( 33 U.S.C. 701b–12(a) ) on adoption by the North Slope Borough Assembly of a floodplain management plan to reduce the impacts of future flood events in the immediate floodplain area of the project if that plan— is approved by the relevant Federal agency; and was developed in consultation with the relevant Federal agency and the Secretary.
