In this title, the term covered auction means a system of competitive bidding— conducted under section 309(j) of the Communications Act of 1934 ( 47 U.S.C. 309(j) ), as amended by this Act, that commences during the period beginning on March 9, 2023, and ending on September 30, 2029; conducted under section 309(j) of the Communications Act of 1934 ( 47 U.S.C. 309(j) ), as amended by this Act, for the band of frequencies between 12700 megahertz and 13250 megahertz, inclusive, on or after the date of enactment of this Act; that involves a band of frequencies described in section 113(g)(2) of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration Organization Act ( 47 U.S.C. 923(g)(2) ) and is conducted on or after the date of enactment of this Act; or with respect to which the Commission shares with a licensee a portion of the proceeds, as described in paragraph (8)(G) of section 309(j) of the Communications Act of 1934 ( 47 U.S.C. 309(j) ), as amended by this Act, and that is conducted on or after the date of enactment of this Act.
