In this subtitle: The term Administrator means the Under Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere in the Under Secretary’s capacity as the Administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The term Indian Tribe has the meaning given that term in section 4 of the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act ( 25 U.S.C. 5304 ). The term Interagency Working Group means the Interagency Working Group on Vegetated Coastal Ecosystems and Great Lakes Ecosystems established under section 512(a).
The term natural infrastructure has the meaning given that term in section 101(a) of title 23, United States Code. The term nonprofit organization means an organization described in section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 and exempt from taxation under 501(a) of that Code. The term State means each State of the United States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the Virgin Islands of the United States, and any other territory or possession of the United States.
The term vegetated coastal ecosystems includes mangroves, tidal marshes, seagrasses, kelp forests, and other tidal, freshwater, or salt-water wetlands.
