Section 118 (20 U.S.C. 9518) is amended to read as follows: The Institute may carry out research projects of common interest with Federal agencies through agreements with such agencies that are in accordance with section 173 and section 430 of the General Education Provisions Act (20 U.S.C. 1231). The Institute may carry out, for the purpose of research, statistical data projects of common interest or coordinate with Federal agencies to ensure that statistical data reported by the National Center for Education Statistics is high-quality, actionable, timely, and easily accessible, in accordance with section 173 and section 430 of the General Education Provisions Act (20 U.S.C. 1231). .
