Not later than January 1, 2025, and every 3 years thereafter, the Secretary of Agriculture, acting through the Chief of the Forest Service, shall— using data from the forest inventory and analysis program, determine the net forest carbon balance on the land in the National Forest System of each Forest Service region, including whether the National Forest System land is— a carbon source; or a carbon sink; and publish the information described in paragraph
(1)on the website of the Forest Service.
