Section 218 of the James M. Inhofe National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2023 ( Public Law 117–263 ) is amended— in subsection (a)— in paragraph (1), by striking The Commander of Naval Air Systems Command and the Director of Air Warfare shall jointly serve and inserting The Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security, acting through the Director of the Air Force Office of Concepts, Development, and Management Office, shall serve ; and in paragraph (2), by striking The resource sponsors of the Program shall be responsible and inserting The resource sponsor, in consultation with the Commander of Naval Air Systems Command, shall be responsible ; in subsection (b), by striking Only the Secretary of the Navy, the Under Secretary of the Navy, and the Commander of Naval Air Systems Command may and inserting Only the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security and the Director of the Air Force Concepts, Development, and Management Office, in consultation with the Commander of Naval Air Systems Command, may ; and in subsection (d)(3), by striking exercised by the Commander of Naval Air Systems Command, the Secretary of the Navy, or the Under Secretary of the Navy and inserting exercised by the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security and the Director of the Air Force Concepts, Development, and Management Office .
