Sec. 513. Assessment of using civil nuclear energy for intelligence community capabilities

The Director of National Intelligence shall, in consultation with the heads of such other elements of the intelligence community as the Director considers appropriate, conduct an assessment of capabilities identified by the Intelligence Community Continuity Program established pursuant to section E(3) of Intelligence Community Directive 118, or any successor directive, or such other facilities or capabilities as may be determined by the Director to be critical to United States national security, that have unique energy needs— to ascertain the feasibility and advisability of using civil nuclear reactors to meet such needs; and to identify such additional resources, technologies, infrastructure, or authorities needed, or other potential obstacles, to commence use of a nuclear reactor to meet such needs.
Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Director shall submit to the congressional intelligence committees a report, which may be in classified form, on the findings of the Director with respect to the assessment conducted pursuant to subsection (a).
