In this Act: The term “appropriate congressional committees” means— the Committee on Ways and Means of the House of Representatives; and the Committee on Finance of the Senate. The term “artisanal and small-scale mining”— means mining with minimal to no mechanization; and includes the use of intensive hand tools. The term “DRC” means the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The term “forced labor” has the meaning given that term in section 307 of the Tariff Act of 1930 ( 19 U.S.C. 1307 ).
