There is established in the Office of International Affairs of U.S. Customs and Border Protection a special enforcement unit tasked with monitoring the implementation by the United States of the Act entitled An Act to ensure that goods made with forced labor in the Xinjiang Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China do not enter the United States market, and for other purposes , approved December 23, 2021 ( Public Law 117–78 ; 135 Stat. 1525) (commonly referred to as the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act ). The special enforcement unit established under subsection
(a)shall coordinate with the trade remedy law enforcement unit of U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The special enforcement unit established under subsection
(a)may deploy agents as necessary for the effective functioning of the unit. The special enforcement unit established under subsection
(a)may deploy permanent NSDD–38 positions stationed at each embassy of the United States in an Americas partner country for the coordination of the efforts of the unit.
