Subsection
(a)of section 415 of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act ( 42 U.S.C. 11374(a) ) is amended— by redesignating paragraphs
(4)and
(5)as paragraphs
(5)and (6), respectively; and by inserting after paragraph
(3)the following new paragraph: Maintenance, operation, insurance, and provision of utilities related to safe parking. . Section 401 of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act ( 42 U.S.C. 11360 ) is amended— by redesignating paragraphs
(24)through
(35)as paragraphs
(25)through (36), respectively; and by inserting after paragraph
(23)the following new paragraph: The term safe parking means an activity that— provides homeless persons living in vehicles, including motor homes, with a safe place to park their vehicles overnight to facilitate a transition to more stable housing; and provides re-housing and supportive services to such homeless persons. .
