Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Director of National Intelligence shall submit to the appropriate congressional committees a comprehensive assessment on the recruitment and training of individuals who speak Mandarin Chinese for each element of the intelligence community. In this section, the term appropriate congressional committees means— the congressional intelligence committees; the Committee on the Judiciary and the Committee on Appropriations of the Senate; and the Committee on Appropriations of the House of Representatives.
