Sec. 1108. Treatment of veterans who did not register for the selective service

Section 3328 of title 5, United States Code, is amended by— in subsection (a)(1), by striking ( and inserting 50 U.S.C. App. 453 ) ( ; 50 U.S.C. 3802 ) redesignating subsection
(b)as subsection (c); by inserting after subsection
(a)the following new subsection: Subsection
(a)shall not apply to an individual— who is a veteran; who provides evidence of active duty service to the Executive agency in which the individual seeks an appointment; and for whom the requirement to register under section 3 of the Military Selective Service Act ( 50 U.S.C. 3802 ) has terminated or is now inapplicable due to age. ; and by adding at the end the following new subsection: In this section, the terms active duty and veteran have the meaning given those terms in section 101 of title 38. .
