Section 3021 of title I of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 ( 34 U.S.C. 10701 ) is amended— in subsection (a), by adding at the end the following: A pilot program for local law enforcement agencies located in rural areas to purchase opioid receptor antagonists, including naloxone, for use by officers in the line of duty, as described in subsection (g). ; and by adding at the end the following: The pilot program described under this subsection shall make grants to rural areas to implement a program for local law enforcement agencies to purchase opioid receptor antagonists, including naloxone, for use by officers in the line of duty. .
