Sec. 140. Peer review of Office of Whistleblower Protection and Aviation Safety Investigations

Section 106(t) of title 49, United States Code, is amended— by striking paragraph (7); by inserting after paragraph
(6)the following: Not later than 2 years after the date of enactment of the Securing Growth and Robust Leadership in American Aviation Act , and every 5 years thereafter, the inspector general of the Department of Transportation shall perform a peer review of the Office of Whistleblower Protection and Aviation Safety Investigations. In completing the peer reviews required under this paragraph, the inspector general shall use the most recent peer review guides published by the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency Audit Committee and Investigations Committee. Not later than 90 days after the completion of a peer review required under this paragraph, the inspector general shall submit to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation of the Senate a description of any actions taken or to be taken to address the results of the peer review. ; and in paragraph (8)(B) by striking the comma.
