Sec. 515. Tribal transportation technical assistance program

For fiscal year 2023 and each fiscal year thereafter, there is authorized to be appropriated, and there is appropriated, out of any monies in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, $7,500,000 to carry out the tribal transportation technical assistance program under section 504(b)(2)(D)(ii) of title 23, United States Code. The amount made available under subsection
(a)for fiscal year 2024 and each fiscal year thereafter shall be adjusted annually to reflect the change in the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The limitation on obligations for Federal-aid highway and highway safety construction programs for each fiscal year shall not apply to the amounts made available under subsection (a). Amounts made available under subsection
(a)shall be available for obligation in the same manner as if those funds were apportioned under chapter 1 of title 23, United States Code. In carrying out the tribal transportation technical assistance program under section 504(b)(2)(D)(ii) of title 23, United States Code, the Secretary of Transportation shall engage in Tribal consultation.
