Sec. 315. Funding for local Tribal educational agencies and Tribal education offices

In this section, the term Tribal educational agency means the agency, department, or instrumentality of an Indian tribe (as defined in section 6132(b) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 ( 20 U.S.C. 7452(b) )) that is primarily responsible for supporting the elementary and secondary education of students who are members of the Indian tribe. Subject to paragraph (2), there are authorized to be appropriated to make grants to Tribal educational agencies, and there are appropriated, out of any monies in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for fiscal year 2023 and each fiscal year thereafter— to the Secretary of Education, $10,000,000; and to the Secretary of the Interior, $10,000,000.

(B)of paragraph
(1)for fiscal year 2024 and each fiscal year thereafter shall be adjusted annually to reflect the change in the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
