Section 1701(j) of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 ( 34 U.S.C. 10381(j) ) is amended— in paragraph (2)— by striking In providing and inserting the following: In providing ; and by adding at the end the following: The Attorney General shall provide grants to Indian tribal governments under this subsection without regard to whether the Indian tribe of the Indian tribal government is located in a State listed in section 1162(a) of title 18, United States Code, or section 1360(a) of title 28, United States Code. ; and by striking paragraph
(4)and inserting the following: Subject to subparagraph (B), there is authorized to be appropriated to carry out this subsection, and there is appropriated, out of any monies in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, $52,000,000 for fiscal year 2023 and each fiscal year thereafter. The amount made available under subparagraph
(A)for fiscal year 2024 and each fiscal year thereafter shall be adjusted annually to reflect the change in the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. .
