Not later than 90 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of State, or the Secretary’s designee, in coordination with the Director of National Intelligence, shall provide a classified briefing to the appropriate congressional committees, the Select Committee on Intelligence of the Senate , and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence of the House of Representatives that describes— the activities related to illicit gold mining, including the illicit mining, trafficking, and commercialization of gold, inside Venezuelan territory carried out by illicit actors, including defectors from the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia
(FARC)and members of the National Liberation Army (ELN); and Venezuela’s illicit gold trade with foreign governments, including the Government of the Republic of Turkey and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
