Section 517 of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 ( 22 U.S.C. 2321k ) is amended by adding at the end the following new subsection: Effective on the date of the enactment of the United States-Colombia Strategic Alliance Act of 2022 , Colombia is designated as a major non-NATO ally for purposes of this Act, the Arms Export Control Act ( 22 U.S.C. 2751 et seq. ), and section 2350a of title 10, United States Code. The President shall notify Congress in accordance with subsection (a)(2) before terminating the designation of a country specified in paragraph (1). .
