Section 549 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020 ( Public Law 116–92 ; 10 U.S.C. 806b note) is amended— by striking Under regulations and inserting Notwithstanding section 552a of title 5, United States Code (commonly referred to as the ; Privacy Act or the Privacy Act of 1974 ) and under regulations by striking alleged sexual assault and inserting an alleged sex-related offense ; and by adding at the end the following new sentence: Upon such final determination, the commander shall notify the victim of the type of action taken on such case, the outcome of the action (including any punishments assigned or characterization of service, as applicable), and such other information as the commander determines to be relevant. .
