Not later than one year after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Director of National Intelligence shall— conduct an assessment as to the future structure and responsibilities of the Foreign Malign Influence Center; and submit to the congressional intelligence committees a report on the findings of the Director with respect to the assessment conducted under paragraph (1). The assessment conducted under subsection (a)(1) shall include an assessment of whether— the Director of the Foreign Malign Influence Center should continue to report directly to the Director of National Intelligence; or the Foreign Malign Influence Center should become an element of the National Counterintelligence and Security Center and the Director of the Foreign Malign Influence Center should report to the Director of the National Counterintelligence and Security Center.
