Section 307(b)(3) of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 ( 6 U.S.C. 187(b)(3) ), is amended— in the matter preceding subparagraph (A), by inserting national laboratories, before and universities ; in subparagraph (C), by striking and at the end; in subparagraph (D), by striking the period at the end and inserting ; and ; and by adding at the end the following: establish not less than 1, and not more than 3, cybersecurity-focused critical technology security centers, in order to bolster the overall resilience of the networks and critical infrastructure of the United States, to perform— network technology security testing, to test the security of cyber-related hardware and software; connected industrial control system security testing, to test the security of connected programmable data logic controllers, supervisory control and data acquisition servers, and other cyber connected industrial equipment; and open source software security testing, to test and coordinate efforts to fix vulnerabilities in open-source software. .
There are authorized to be appropriated to carry out the amendments made by this section $15,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2022 through 2026.
