Sec. 5112. Art in embassies

No funds are authorized to be appropriated for the purchase of any piece of art for the purposes of installation or display in any embassy, consulate, or other foreign mission of the United States if the purchase price of such piece of art is in excess of $37,500, unless such purchase is subject to prior consultation with, and the regular notification procedures of, the appropriate congressional committees. Not later than 90 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary shall submit to the appropriate congressional committees and the Committees on Appropriations of the Senate and the House of Representatives a report on the costs of the Art in Embassies Program for each of fiscal years 2016 through 2020.
This section shall terminate on the date that is 2 years after the date of the enactment of this Act. In this section, the term art includes paintings, sculptures, photographs, industrial design, and craft art.
