In this Act: The terms approved national service position , Corporation , disadvantaged youth , national service laws , participant , service sponsor , and State Commission have the meanings given such terms in section 101 of the National and Community Service Act of 1990 ( 42 U.S.C. 12511 ). The term COVID–19 emergency recovery period means the period beginning on the date of enactment of this Act and ending at the end of fiscal year 2024. The term high-poverty area means a census tract defined as high-poverty by the Bureau of the Census.
