Section 116(a) of the Legislative Branch Appropriations Act, 2002 ( 2 U.S.C. 4551 ) is amended— by striking The usual day and inserting

(1)Except as provided in paragraph (2), the usual day ; and by adding at the end the following: If directed by the Committee on House Administration of the House of Representatives, the Chief Administrative Officer may pay salaries in or under the House of Representatives twice per month, or on the basis of such other schedule, as such Committee may promulgate by regulation. .
