Section 1231 of the Food Security Act of 1985 ( 16 U.S.C. 3831 ) is amended by adding at the end the following: Notwithstanding subsection (b), the Secretary may not enroll prime farmland in the program established under this subchapter. In this subsection, the term prime farmland means farmland described in section 1540(c)(1)(A) of the Farmland Protection Policy Act ( 7 U.S.C. 4201(c)(1)(A) ). .
