The Secretary of Defense shall ensure that the publicly accessible internet website of the Department of Defense that lists individuals who have been awarded certain military awards includes a list of each individual who meets each of the following criteria: The individual is awarded the Purple Heart for qualifying actions that occur after the date of the enactment of this Act. The individual elects to be included on such list (or, if the individual is deceased, the primary next of kin elects the individual to be included on such list). The public release of the individual’s name does not constitute a security risk, as determined by the Secretary of the military department concerned.
