The text of section 12(a) of the Act of June 21, 1940 ( 33 U.S.C. 522(a) ), popularly known as the Truman-Hobbs Act , is— reinstated as it appeared on the day before the date of the enactment of section 8507(b) of the William M.
(Mac)Thornberry National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021 ( Public Law 116–283 ; 134 Stat. 4754); and redesignated as the sole text of section 12 of the Act of June 21, 1940 ( 33 U.S.C. 522 ). The provision reinstated under subsection
(a)shall be treated as if such section 8507(b) had never taken effect. The provision reinstated under subsection
(a)is amended by striking , except to the extent provided in this section .
