Federal law enforcement officers shall record, using an electronic audio or video technology, or both, each custodial and non-custodial interview. In this section, the term Federal law enforcement officer means any officer, agent, or employee of the Department of Justice authorized by law or by the Department of Justice to engage in or supervise the prevention, detection, investigation, or prosecution of any violation of Federal criminal law.
