Section 201(a) of the North Korean Human Rights Act of 2004 ( 22 U.S.C. 7831(a) ) is amended— in paragraph (2), by striking and after the semicolon at the end; in paragraph (3), by striking the period and inserting : and ; and by adding at the end the following new paragraph: the impacts of the COVID–19 pandemic on the North Korean people across the country and on the distribution of humanitarian assistance inside North Korea. . The amendments made by subsection
(a)shall take effect on the date of the enactment of this Act and apply beginning with the first report required under section 201(a) of the North Korean Human Rights Act of 2004, as amended by such subsection.
