Title VII of the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act ( 50 U.S.C. 4021 et seq. ) is amended by adding at the end the following new section: A public lodging establishment shall waive any minimum age requirement to obtain accommodation at such establishment for a member of the Armed Forces who presents a valid identification card issued by the Armed Force of such member and seeks to obtain accommodation at such establishment while— under military orders (as defined in section 305); or on authorized military leave. Whoever knowingly violates subsection
(a)shall be fined under title 18, United States Code. In this section, the term public lodging establishment includes any inn, hotel, motel, or other establishment that provides lodging to transient guests, other than an establishment located within a building that contains not more than five rooms for rent or hire and that is actually occupied by the proprietor of such establishment as the residence of such proprietor. . The table of contents for that Act is amended by inserting after the item relating to section 707 the following new item: Sec. 708.
