The text of section 12(a) of the Act of June 21, 1940 ( 33 U.S.C. 522(a) ), popularly known as the Truman-Hobbs Act, is— reinstated as it appeared on the day before the date of enactment of section 8507(b) of the William M.
(Mac)Thornberry National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021 ( Public Law 116–283 ); and redesignated as the sole text of section 12 of the Act of June 21, 1940 ( 33 U.S.C. 522 ). The provision reinstated by subsection
(a)shall be treated as if such section 8507(b) had never taken effect. The provision reinstated under subsection
(a)is amended by striking , except to the extent provided in this section .
