Subsection
(b)of section 20 of the National Institute of Standards and Technology Act ( 15 U.S.C. 278g–3 ) is amended— in paragraph (2), by striking and after the semicolon; in paragraph (3), by striking the period and inserting ; and ; and by adding at the end the following: performance standards and guidelines for high risk biometric identification systems, including facial recognition systems, accounting for various use cases, types of biometric identification systems, and relevant operational conditions. .
