Sec. 1602. Invasive species in impaired waters

The Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (referred to in this section as the Administrator ) may provide technical assistance to support efforts to eradicate invasive species from waterways of the United States to— States; Indian Tribes; and units of local government. The technical assistance under subsection
(a)shall be provided at no cost to the entities described in that subsection. In selecting efforts to which to provide technical assistance under subsection (a), the Administrator shall give priority to those efforts that target an invasive species in a waterway that is identified by the applicable State under subparagraph
(A)or
(B)of section 303(d)(1) of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act ( 33 U.S.C. 1313(d)(1) ). There is authorized to be appropriated to carry out this section $10,000,000, to remain available until expended.
