It is the sense of the Senate that the United States should— promote the enduring strategic partnership of the United States with the Republic of Georgia; support robust security sector assistance for the Republic of Georgia, including defensive lethal assistance— to strengthen the defense capabilities and readiness of the Republic of Georgia; to improve interoperability with North Atlantic Treaty Organization
(NATO)forces; and to bolster deterrence against aggression by the Russian Federation; enhance security in the Black Sea region by increasing engagement and security cooperation with Black Sea countries, including by increasing the frequency, scale, and scope of North Atlantic Treaty Organization and other multilateral exercises in the Black Sea region with the participation of the Republic of Georgia and Ukraine; and affirm support for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization open door policy, including the eventual membership of the Republic of Georgia in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
