Subsection
(b)of section 2284 of title 10, United States Code, is amended— in paragraph (1)— in subparagraph (B), by inserting and after the semicolon; in subparagraph (C), by striking joint program executive officer who and inserting training and technology program that ; by inserting , provides common individual training, after explosive ordnance disposal ; by striking and procurement ; by inserting for common tools after activities ; by striking and combatant commands ; and by inserting and after the semicolon; and by striking subparagraphs
(D)and (E); in paragraph (2), by striking such as weapon systems, manned and unmanned vehicles and platforms, cyber and communication equipment, and the integration of explosive ordnance disposal sets, kits and outfits and explosive ordnance disposal tools, equipment, sets, kits, and outfits developed by the department. and inserting ; and ; and by adding at the end the following new paragraph: the Secretary of the Army shall designate an Army explosive ordnance disposal-qualified general officer to serve as the co-chair of the Department of Defense explosive ordnance disposal defense program. . Such section is further amended by adding at the end the following new subsection: In this section: The term explosive ordnance has the meaning given such term in section 283(d) of this title. The term explosive ordnance disposal means the detection, identification, on-site evaluation, rendering safe, exploitation, recovery, and final disposal of explosive ordnance. .
