It is the sense of Congress that— the mission of the Multinational Force and Observers
(MFO)is to supervise implementation of the security provisions of the Egypt-Israel Peace Treaty, signed at Washington on March 26, 1979, and employ best efforts to prevent any violation of its terms; the MFO was established by the Protocol to the Egypt-Israel Peace Treaty, signed on August 3, 1981, and remains a critical institution for regional peace and stability; and as a signatory to the Egypt-Israel Peace Treaty and subsequent Protocol, the United States strongly supports and encourages continued United States military support for and participation in the MFO.
