The Secretary of Defense shall— translate any written material of the Department of Defense prepared in the English language for the general public relating to the COVID–19 pandemic into the languages specified in subsection
(b)by not later than 7 days after the date on which such material is made available; and make such translated written material available to the public. The languages specified in this subsection are the following: Arabic. Cambodian. Chinese. French. Greek. Haitian Creole. Hindi. Italian. Japanese. Korean. Laotian. Polish. Portuguese. Russian. Spanish. Tagalog. Thai. Urdu. Vietnamese. In this section, the term COVID–19 pandemic means the public health emergency declared by the Secretary of Health and Human Services pursuant to section 319 of the Public Health Service Act on January 31, 2020, entitled Determination that a Public Health Emergency Exists Nationwide as the Result of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus .
