Subsection
(b)of section 2202 of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 ( 6 U.S.C. 652 ) is amended by— redesignating paragraph
(2)as paragraph (4); and inserting after paragraph
(1)the following new paragraphs: The Director shall be appointed from among individuals who have— extensive knowledge in at least two of the areas specified in subparagraph (B); and not fewer than 5 years of demonstrated experience in efforts to foster coordination and collaboration between the Federal Government, the private sector, and other entities on issues related to cybersecurity, infrastructure security, or security risk management. The areas specified in this subparagraph are the following: Cybersecurity. Infrastructure security. Security risk management. Effective with respect to an individual appointed to be the Director by the President, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, after the date of the enactment of this paragraph, the term of office of such an individual so appointed shall be 5 years, and such an individual may not serve more than two terms. The term of office of the individual serving as the Director as of such date of enactment shall be 5 years beginning on the date on which the Director began serving. . Section 2203 of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 ( 6 U.S.C. 653 ) is amended— in subsection (a)— in the heading for paragraph (2), by striking and inserting Assistant Director ; and Executive Assistant Director in paragraph (2), by striking Assistant Director for Cybersecurity (in this section referred to as the and inserting Assistant Director ) Executive Assistant Director for Cybersecurity (in this section referred to as the ; and Executive Assistant Director ) by striking Assistant Director each place it appears and inserting Executive Assistant Director . Section 2204 of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 ( 6 U.S.C. 654 ) is amended— in subsection (a)— in the heading for paragraph (2), by striking and inserting Assistant Director ; and Executive Assistant Director in paragraph (2), by striking Assistant Director for Infrastructure Security (in this section referred to as the and inserting Assistant Director ) Executive Assistant Director for Infrastructure Security (in this section referred to as the ; and Executive Assistant Director ) by striking Assistant Director each place it appears and inserting Executive Assistant Director . The Homeland Security Act of 2002 is amended— in subparagraph
(B)of section 2203(a)(2) ( 6 U.S.C. 653(a)(2) ), by striking President without the advice and consent of the Senate and inserting Secretary ; and in subparagraph
(B)of section 2204(a)(2) ( 6 U.S.C. 654(a)(2) ), by striking President without the advice and consent of the Senate and inserting Secretary . Subchapter II of chapter 53 of title 5, United States Code, is amended— in section 5313, by inserting after Administrator of the Transportation Security Administration. the following: Director, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. ; and in section 5314, by striking Director, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. .
