Section 1243 of the Food, Agriculture, Conservation, and Trade Act of 1990 ( 16 U.S.C. 1642 note; Public Law 101–624 ) is amended— by amending the section heading to read as follows: ; National and Regional Agroforestry Centers by amending subsection
(a)to read as follows: The Secretary of Agriculture shall establish at the Forestry Sciences Laboratory of the United States Forest Service, in Lincoln, Nebraska, a Semiarid Agroforestry Research, Development, and Demonstration Center, and acting through the Chief of the Forest Service and in cooperation with the Natural Resources Conservation Service, shall establish three additional regional agroforestry centers at other locations to be determined by the Secretary (referred to in this section as the Centers ). The Secretary shall appoint a National Director and three Regional Directors to manage and coordinate the program established under subsection (b). ; in subsection (b)— in the matter preceding paragraph (1), by striking Center and inserting Centers ; in paragraph (1), by striking on semiarid lands that and inserting that build soil health and ; in paragraph (4)— by striking in semiarid regions ; and by striking the Great Plains region and inserting particular regions ; in paragraph (7), by striking on semiarid lands ; in paragraph (8), by striking on semiarid lands worldwide and inserting worldwide, including on semiarid lands ; and in paragraph (9)— by striking on semiarid lands ; and by inserting and climate change after pollution ; in subsection (c), in the matter preceding paragraph (1), by striking Center and inserting Centers ; and in subsection (d), by striking through 2023 and inserting and 2020 and $25,000,000 for each of the fiscal years 2021 through 2030 .
