Section 118 of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 ( 22 U.S.C. 2151p–1 ) is amended as follows: In subsection (a)(2), by inserting , including by reducing global carbon sequestration before the period at the end. In subsection (c)(1), by inserting , reforestation, after conservation . In subsection (c)(2)(A), by inserting and impact on global carbon emissions after irreversible losses . In subsection (c)(6), by inserting (including projects to increase carbon sequestration) after sustainable forestry projects and practices .
In subsection (c)(8), by inserting carbon sequestration, after soil conservation, . In subsection (f), by inserting and a study on the total carbon sequestered through increases in tropical forest stocks globally as a result of programs, projects and activities carried out under this section before the period at the end.
