Sec. 1239. Annual report on cyber attacks and intrusions against the Department of Defense by certain foreign entities

Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, and each fiscal year thereafter through fiscal year 2023, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the congressional defense committees a report on cyber attacks and intrusions in the previous 12 months by agents or associates of the Governments of the Russian Federation, the People’s Republic of China, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea against or into— the information systems (as such term is defined in section 3502 of title 44, United States Code) of— the Department of Defense; and any contractor of the Department of Defense that works on sensitive United States military technology; and the personal communications of the personnel of the Department of Defense.
The report required by subsection
(a)shall be submitted in classified form.
