The Secretary shall make every reasonable effort to make operational all streamgages identified as Federal Priority Streamgages by the United States Geological Survey not later than 10 years after the date of the enactment of this Act. The Secretary shall, to the maximum extent practicable, seek to leverage Federal investments in Federal Priority Streamgages through collaborative partnerships with States and local agencies that invest non-Federal funds to maintain and enhance gage networks to improve both environmental quality and water supply reliability. There are authorized to be appropriated $45,000,000 to carry out this section for each fiscal year through fiscal year 2026.
