Section 2 of the DNA Analysis Backlog Elimination Act of 2000 ( 34 U.S.C. 40701 ) is amended— in subsection (f)— in paragraph
(1)by striking and at the end; by redesignating paragraph
(2)as paragraph (3); and by inserting after paragraph
(1)the following: information on best practices for state and local governments to reduce the backlog of DNA evidence ; and in subsection (j), by striking 2015 through 2019 and inserting 2020 through 2024 .
